Ashlyn's Pet Rock=D
Mars'-Chariot-Ride.png

Mars By Ashlyn Saunders

Have you ever wondered how your life would be if you were a rock? I know it's a weird thing to wonder, but I have and I found the perfect rock. My name is Mars, and this is my story.

It all started when I, Mars the Rock, was in Rome, and the High Priest's administrator spotted me about to get run over by a chariot. He charged out to the street and got right in front of it.  The chariot driver jerked on the stallion's reigns, forcing them to stop.  Then the driver, Romu, started to yell at the person who had almost gotten run over.  He stopped immediately once he saw who it was. It was the administrator of the high priest! He couldn't believe that he was standing right in front of him! But he was shy, changed directions, and bolted out of his way.

The administrator, Kane grabbed the rock and raced to the palace. I then barged in through the doors and raced to the priest. The priest had no idea why I had picked up an ordinary rock out of the dust road. So, I had to explain to him that this ordinary rock out of the dusty road. So, I had to explain to him that this ordinary looking rock resembled the great god Mars, or Ares, god of war.  Once he understood he silently went inside, and locked the door.  So I went outside and placed the magnificent rock on an altar. Soon, a crowed had formed and started bowing down to the rock. Once the crowd left, it was late into the night.

"I cannot believe that imbecile of an administrator picked up a dust-covered rock, and let it replace me, the mighty priest!" I think as I quickly creep down the deserted hall of my palace.  Once I'm outside, I see the rust-colored rock on the altar. Acting like it's alive, I quietly tip-toe behind it.  Next, I snatch it right off the stand and race down the steps.

I was peacefully sleeping after a very crazy day when I was startled awake by someone grabbing me. Since I couldn't speak of move, I just sat obediently in this stranger's hand while he walked me to the river. WAIT! The river!? No. He can't! He may be the priest, but he can't throw me into the river! We made it to the river. *Splash!* I'm in the river....

After I got thrown into the river, I floated, and floated. I soon fell asleep. I woke, startled, when I ran into a boat. I quickly wedged myself into two plates of the outer boat. I found myself in a different shape! The river had weathered so I'm a different form! Weird....

Once the boat docked, I realize d that we were in Athens, Greece. I dislodged myself before the boat started to sail again. Once I land on the deck, I realize that’s all I can do. I'm stuck there. But there's still more passengers on the boat! I needed up getting lucky and being picked up. But my lucked ended right then. He picked me up and it seemed I flew half way over Athens! I landed quickly though, given I’m a heavy sedimentary rock. Just to be picked up again by a little boy riding a bike.  The boy took me to his home He left me on the counter to go do his chores. When he left the room, his brother took me outside and threw me into the ocean. I floated and floated until I reached North America. I landed in Redding, California.

There, I found a loving owner who willingly brought me to her school to be her pet rock. Once inside her classroom, I made over ten friends who were also rocks! I also made a human friend named Ashlyn, my owner. I am happy here and love my new home, Ashlyn's school, just like she does.
