RECENT COMMUNICATION/ANNOUNCEMENTS

Thank you to all our parents who have picked up the learning packets. While the office is officially closed for the next two weeks, there will be someone in the office on Monday and those who haven’t picked up packets may do so. If a parent has a specific need they can also email the school at nccs@northcowcreek.org. This email is monitored even with the office is closed.

When might students return? We understand these are interesting times. We have no date for the return of students. At this point we do not anticipate students being back this school year as a result of comments made by the Governor and the State Superintendent of Instruction. If this ends up being the case, we will have further information out regarding 8th grade promotion and end-of-year activities.

What are the plans for instruction as we move forward? Beginning on Tuesday, APril 14, we will be moving to a hybrid (online and paper/pencil) instruction program for students. Teachers will be reaching out to their students and families with more information on what this will look like. This is a new experience for us all, and we ask for your patience and feedback as we learn together. To help us better support our families during this time, you can click here or on the link below to complete a survey we are asking our parents to complete (one submission per family is all that is needed).

Need Internet Connection Resources? Click HERE to view a list of resources you can take advantage of for both free and discounted internet connections.

Congratulations to virtual field trip winners: We’ve had over 85 submissions from students sharing information on their virtual field trip experience. We drew five more names of students who submitted what they learned. These students will be receiving a special school prize pack in the mail.  Links to the virtual field trips are available on our school website under the STUDENT tab.

What else is happening on campus while students are away? A big thank you to our custodial staff who have been working on deep cleaning our campus while students are away. If you have driven by campus, you will also notice that the K-2 classroom wings are being re-roofed.

Beaver Bash Postponed: The Beaver Bash scheduled for later this month has been postponed until May 9th.

Fundraiser for Holly Flagg’s Son: Kindergarten teacher Holly Flagg’s son, Christopher Flagg, has been diagnosed with aplastic anemia. A GoFundMe campaign has been started to help his family with medical expenses. You can donate at https://gf.me/u/xrtdvq or by sending a check to NCC addressed to the EdFoundation and with Christopher Flagg written in the memo line.
