Beaver weekly update

Leader in Me

This week we learned to tell the difference between empathic and autobiographical responses. With autobiographical listening, we practice listening with our eyes, ears, and heart. Use the How Well Do You Know Me? resource on Leader in Me Online with your learner, asking the questions, and practice listening with your eyes, ears, and hearts!

Athletics

Track & Field practice begins the Monday we return from break, April 13th.

Lighthouse Evaluation

Next Friday is our official assessment date. Two Leader in Me evaluators will be on campus to assess how we are doing as a Leader in Me School. If all goes well, they will designate us as an official Lighthouse School. Thanks for being a part of our journey.

Middle School Dance

Sixth, seventh, and eighth graders, mark your calendars for Thursday, April 16, from 6:00-8:30. The Spring school dance is a “Night in Rio.” It will be a semi-formal dance with bright colors encouraged. There is a $5 entry fee. Bring extra money if you want to purchase snacks.

School Improvement Survey

Today is the last day to complete your parent survey. If you have not already done so, please complete our parent survey. As a Leader in Me school, we teach 21st-century leadership and life skills to students and create a culture of student empowerment based on the idea that every child can be a leader. Please fill out one survey per family. If you have more than one child attending the school, you will be asked to think about the oldest child's experiences as you answer questions related to his or her growth.

Call for Elective Presenters

We are looking to expand our middle school elective program. If you know of any adult who has a program that would be interesting for our middle schoolers, please have them contact the office. We run six-week sessions of electives once a week on Thursday from 2:15-3:00 and are looking for adults who would be willing to present the program. Some ideas have included outdoor activities, finances, fine arts, and gardening. There are many other ideas that you may have.

Spirit Wear

Wearing school spirit gear on Fridays is a fun way to build pride, strengthen our community, and show support for our school—let’s fill our Fridays with school spirit!

You can purchase North Cow Creek clothing at the Spirit Gear web store and invite families to purchase spirit wear for their students! Use this link for our school apparel!
