Leader in Me

This week we learned to celebrate differences. We have been working to create a classroom environment where differences are celebrated. As a family, discuss these questions:

How does being different make us stronger?
What great things have we been able to accomplish because of our strengths?

Athletics

Track & Field’s first meet is less than two weeks away. They continue to prepare for their first meet on May 12th.

Lighthouse Certification

If you did not hear the news, NCCS was successful in getting our Lighthouse certification. Due to the dedicated work by our students, staff, and families, we have now become the first Lighthouse school in the North State. We will showcase our new status with our first visit next Tuesday. The CA School Board Association Small School Advocacy Group will send a representative for their initiative: Small Schools-Big Ideas on Tuesday. Thank you for being a part of this exciting journey.

Reading Steps Wildly Important Goal

And another celebration: North Cow Creek has officially met our reading WIG! With one month to spare, our students and staff have collectively read 105,496 reading steps, easily surpassing our goal of 100,000 reading steps this school year. Our Academic Action Team is planning a super extended whole school recess gameday to celebrate. Thanks for all of the support. This reading accomplishment does not just happen at school.

Art Showcase

Our School Art Showcase is just around the corner! Artwork will be proudly displayed for families to enjoy on May 7th. We look forward to celebrating our students’ creativity!

Open House

Mark your calendars for Open House. May 20 from 6:00-7:00 will be your opportunity to visit classrooms and see what great work our students have been doing this year. The Ed Foundation will have a family dinner meal from 5:00-6:00.

Color Run

Thank you to all who participated in today’s Color Run fundraiser organised by the Ed Foundation.

After Care Credit Card Payments

Aftercare payments can now be made using a credit card. Any credit card transactions must be completed in the school office.
